The Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) is designed to provide a common platform and equal opportunity to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and remote areas, to seek admission to various undergraduate programs in Central Universities and other participating institutions.

CUET (UG) 2025 Exam Pattern (Revised):

• Mode of Examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
• Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Number of Subjects: Total of 37 subjects (13 languages, 23 domain subjects, and a General Test).
• Subject Choices: Candidates can choose a maximum of 5 domain subjects.
• Duration: Each subject paper will have a standardized duration of 60 minutes.
• Marking Scheme:
  • +5 marks for each correct answer.
  • -1 mark for each incorrect response (negative marking).
• Sections:
  • Section IA (Languages): 13 Languages. Candidates can choose a maximum of 3 languages (from both Section IA and IB).
  • Section IB (Optional Languages): 19 Languages (often grouped with Section IA for language choices).
  • Section II (Domain Specific Subjects): 23 Domain subjects. Candidates can select up to five domain-specific subjects. MCQs based on NCERT Class 12 syllabus only.

The syllabus is primarily based on the NCERT Class 12 curriculum for domain subjects.

• Age Limit: Varies by university and program. For example, some universities may have an upper age limit of 22 years on July 1, 2025, while others might have different criteria. There is no upper age limit set by NTA for CUET itself, but universities might have their own criteria.
• Subject Choices: Students can opt for any CUET subject regardless of the subjects they studied in Class 12.

How to Apply:

1. Online Mode Only: Applications are accepted exclusively online through the official NTA CUET website.

CLAT 2025: Stepping into the Legal World

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a standardized national-level entrance examination conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities. It is a mandatory requirement for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes offered by the National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.

CLAT 2025 Exam Pattern:

• Mode of Examination: Offline (Pen-Paper mode).
• Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Total Questions: 120 questions.
• Duration: 2 hours (120 minutes).
• Marking Scheme:
  • +1 mark for every correct answer.
  • -0.25 marks for every wrong answer (negative marking).

CLAT 2025 Syllabus:

The CLAT syllabus focuses on assessing comprehension and reasoning abilities rather than rote learning.

• English Language: Reading comprehension passages (approx. 450 words), focusing on understanding and identifying arguments and viewpoints presented in the passages. Vocabulary, grammar, and inference-based questions.
• Current Affairs, including General Knowledge: Passages (approx. 450 words) from various sources (news, journalistic pieces). Focus on major current events (national & international), arts, culture, history, and general knowledge.
• Legal Reasoning: Passages (approx. 450 words) related to factual situations or legal principles. Questions will assess understanding of legal principles, applying them to given scenarios, and identifying relevant principles. No prior legal knowledge is required.
• Logical Reasoning: Short passages (approx. 300 words). Questions based on identifying arguments, premises, conclusions, patterns, drawing inferences, and critical reasoning.
• Quantitative Techniques: Set of propositions, graphs, or other textual/pictorial representations. Questions will be based on 10th standard mathematical operations, ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration, and statistical estimation.

CLAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria:

• Academic Qualification (UG): Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination with a minimum of:
  • 45% marks (or equivalent grade) for General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories.
  • 40% marks (or equivalent grade) for SC/ST categories.
  • Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in March/April 2025 are also eligible to apply, but must produce proof of passing at the time of admission.
• Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for candidates appearing for UG Programme through CLAT 2025.

How to Apply:

1. Online Registration: Visit the official CLAT Consortium website.
2. Create an Account: Register with your name, mobile number, and email ID. Create a strong password. An OTP will be sent for account activation.
3. Fill Application Form: Log in and fill out the detailed application form with personal, educational, and communication details (address, mobile number, email ID).
4. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature (and category certificates if applicable) as per specifications.
5. Test Centre Preference: Choose a minimum of three cities for your test centre preference in priority order.
